Atomic 5.3.0 – AI Enhanced

Atomic Periodic Table 5.3.0 is now available!

I’m excited to announce the release of update 5.3.0 to Atomic Periodic Table for both Android and Windows. This release brings together the Android and Windows experiences in a big way, improving consistency, strengthening the underlying architecture, and setting the foundation for updates closer togheter and for additional platforms.

This release is all about parity, quality, and maintainability. I have focused on aligning the Windows app with the Android platform, modernizing the project structure, and improving the way data is generated, validated, and shared across both apps.

What’s new in 5.3.0

This release includes a broad set of improvements across both Android and Windows, with a common theme, bringing the project closer together as a single, modernized platform experience.

Android: The Android app continues to serve as the foundation for the project’s underlying structure and generated data model. This is an important architectural decision that helps keep the periodic table data and model definitions synchronized more effectively across platforms.

In practical terms, this means:

  • Android remains the upstream source for generated element data
  • Windows has been brought closer to that model
  • Shared data is managed more intentionally
  • Generated output is easier to validate and maintain

Windows: The Windows app has undergone a significant modernization in this release. Project layout has been refined, updated the solution structure, and moved toward a cleaner separation between the core app logic and the application shell.

This work includes:

  • Improved project and solution organization
  • Better separation of responsibilities within the app
  • Modernized configuration and publish profile handling
  • A clearer path for future feature parity with Android
  • More robust build and release support for Windows

Shared data: One of the most meaningful updates in 5.3.0 is the effort to reduce drift between platforms by improving how shared data and generated code are handled.

Thank you for continuing to support Atomic Periodic Table. We’re excited to keep improving the app and bringing both versions closer together
